Tish Sjuts

Tish Sjuts (she/her/hers), Development and Strategic Communications Manager

 

Tish Sjuts is the Development and Strategic Communications Manager at the Midwest Innocence Project where she is has specialized in events, grant writing, and campaign planning. Since beginning her career in development, Tish has raised over three million dollars in grant writing and events alone, and participated in a capital campaign raising more than one million dollars to fund the construction of a new multigenerational family literacy center in Kansas City.

Tish started with MIP in 2019, since then she has been a part of several successful grants including partnership grants with MU, UMKC, and John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Her passion for getting folks involved in innocence work can be felt at MIP’s Faces of Innocence event and other fundraisers.

As a first-generation Chicanx college graduate, Tish is proud to have earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Rhetoric from the University of Missouri Kansas City. Outside of work, Tish enjoys spontaneous road trips, RPGs, and all things scifi.
