Emma Bieker (she/her/hers), Social Work Intern

Emma Bieker earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Fort Hays State University. She is currently completing her Master’s degree Master’s level practicum as the Social Worker Intern for the Midwest Innocence Project. As an intern, she will assist the Social Work team in case management, crisis intervention, and outreach services. She values Social Justice, the dignity and worth of people, service, and the importance of human relationships.

Prior to working with MIP, she worked at a social justice organization known as the Metro Organization of Racial and Economic Equity as a community organizer. In this role, she organized a Criminal Justice Task Force to advocate for inequalities within the community and addressed corrupt investigative policies. Emma attended Gamaliel National Leadership Training and earned her certificate in 2022.

Outside of MIP, Emma loves painting (pictured below) and playing music. Emma also enjoys spending time with her friends and hopes to get a dog (preferably soon).
