Courtney Ellis (she/her/hers), Social Work Intern

 

Courtney Ellis is passionate and committed to the values found in human relationships, the dignity and worth of a person, as well as social justice. Courtney’s values and professional aspirations align with the mission and goals of the Midwest Innocence Project.

 

As the Social Worker for the Midwest Innocence Project, she is responsible for assisting both freed and incarcerated clients and area exonerees, transition to life outside prison after wrongful incarceration. Her responsibilities include providing case management, crisis intervention, and support services to this marginalized population. Her empathy, critical thinking skills, and team-oriented mindset, help Courtney provide these essential services.

 

When Courtney isn’t working, you’ll find her singing or traveling the world. A fun fact about Courtney is that she took 8 years of classical voice training. If you really want to see her excited, ask her about her cats.
