Courtney Ellis (she/her/hers), Social Work

 

Courtney Ellis is passionate and committed to the values found in human relationships, the dignity and worth of a person, as well as social justice. Courtney’s values and professional aspirations align with the mission and goals of the Midwest Innocence Project.

 

As the Social Worker for the Midwest Innocence Project, she is responsible for assisting both freed and incarcerated clients and area exonerees, transition to life outside prison after wrongful incarceration. Her responsibilities include providing case management, crisis intervention, and support services to this marginalized population. Her empathy, critical thinking skills, and team-oriented mindset, help Courtney provide these essential services.

 

Outside of work, Courtney loves to sing and explore new places around the globe. A fun fact: she’s also a professional actor with experience on both stage and screen. Want to see her light up? Just ask about her cats.
