The Midwest Innocence Project Student Organization (MIPSO) will be hosting Mind of the Innocent, an art variety show featuring the works of currently incarcerated MIP clients, at The Kick Theater* on March 15, 2017, beginning at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased here.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase from Green Room and Westport Coffeehouse and can be brought into the theater at anytime.

From 6:30-7:30 pm, Floyd Bledsoe, who was exonerated in December of 2015, will showcase some of his incredible paintings, which will also be available for purchase.

At 7:30 pm, the on-stage performance will start. Act 1 will feature short poems and stories written by current clients, including Michael Politte, Rodney Lincoln, Tim Chaney, and Charles Erickson. Act 2 will feature a spoken word play written by Ricky Kidd, and will be performed by some of KC finest actors, including Frank Oakley III, Branden Mims, De’Markcus Howell, Bess Osburn Hayles, and RC Shivers.

Booklets of the written works will be for sale, as well as t-shirts, bracelets, and more.

*Please note that The Kick Theater is technically located at 4010 Pennsylvania Ave., but there is no front door to the theater, so attendees will have to go in through the Green Room and into the back hallway or through Westport Coffeehouse and then down the stairs.
